At River Forest, Illinois, the student brothers of the Order begin their important philosophical studies; it is here that they are introduced to the wisdom of St. Thomas Aquinas whom the Church considers to be her greatest and most learned Doctor. At the end of his three years here a brother pronounces his solemn vows for life.

One of the most beautiful traditions of the Order is the "Salve" procession which takes place every evening after Compline (the last hour of the Breviary) has been solemnly chanted.
