Praise the name of Yahweh! * Praise the works of Yahweh,

    you who stand in the house of Yahweh, * in the courts of the house of our God.

    Praise Yah, for Yahweh is good; * chant to his Name, which is very pleasant.

For Yah chose Jacob for himself, * Israel as his private possession.

    Yes, I acknowledge * that Yahweh is great, * that our Lord is greater than all gods.

        Whatever he wills, * Yahweh does

           in heaven and on earth, * in the seas and in all the depths.

    makes lightning for the rain, * brings out wind from his storehouses.

        He struck the firstborn of Egypt, * man as well as beast.

        He sent signs and wonders * into the midst of Egypt, * against Pharaoh and all his servants.

           He struck great nations, * and killed mighty kings,

           even Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, * yes, all the kings of Canaan.

           He gave out their land for possession, * possession by Israel his people.
