R. I. P.: Fr. Vincent Zarlenga, O.P.

On June 13, 2010, the Rev. Vincent Italo Zarlenga, O.P., died from advanced age. He was a native of Pietrabbondante, Italy. He was proceeded in death by his parents Angelo Zarlenga and Giovanna Di Benedette, his brothers the Rev. Rinaldo Zarlenga, O.P., Vito, Tito, Cenzino and Guerino, and his sisters Edilia Giaccio, Enrina Lastoria, Elena Giaccio. He made vows as a Dominican friar on October 3, 1944 and was ordained a priest on October 28, 1951 in Rome, Italy. During his Dominican life he served as a teacher and he founded the Fra Angelico Art Foundation Funeral service took place at Saint Vincent Ferrer Church in River Forest, Illinois on Thursday, June 17th , viewing at 9:00 A.M with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M., burial will be in Italy. Donations can be made in his memory to the Dominican Society for Vocational Support, 1909 South Ashland Avenue, Chicago, IL 60608.

Fr. Jack O’Malley, O.P. gave the homily at Fr. Vincent’s funeral Mass, with comments also by Fr. Michael Mascari, O.P., Prior Provincial.
