The Province of St. Albert the Great Capital Campaign
The Province of Tomorrow: Opportunities & Challenges The Province of tomorrow is one that secures its future, and honors its past. From Denver, to St. Louis, to Chicago, there is need throughout the Province to secure the future for our youngest brothers as well as to care for those who have served the Order and the Church so generously over the course of their lives. All of these men, young and old, have pledged their lives to the needs of others. To have the financial resources to provide for the young reduces the pressure in caring for the elderly, and vice versa. These two great needs are powerful reminders of the Province’s commitment to provide for all of its members, for the good of the Order, but especially for the future well-being of the Church and its members. At the present time, when the church is facing a serious, even critical shortage in vocations, the Province of St. Albert the Great is thriving, with many men seeking to embrace the vision of St. Dominic in their following of Christ.
  • The Province is growing, consistently receiving new vocations, with most falling between the ages of 22 and 32!
  • An extraordinary opportunity to welcome energetic and passionate young men, a real blessing to the Province and the Church!

The Province recognizes the tremendous contribution of the friars who have been serving the Church for decades.

  • These older friars have given their lives to preaching the Gospel of Jesus, teaching the Catholic faith, and instilling Christian values
  • They have provided pastoral care in countless parishes and Newman centers across the Midwest
  • These friars are an invaluable asset to the Church and the Order!
Campaign Goals & Objectives
The ever rising costs for health care, housing, and education affect the Dominicans, as much as they do the rest of society. The overall cost of meeting the immediate and long-range support for formation, education, retirement, and facilities will total approximately $17,000,000. Toward this end, philanthropy will be a crucial factor in addressing these compelling needs. As the Province sets its course for the future, it has become evident that significant new sources of income will be necessary to attain its objectives. To raise $17,000,000 will be an extraordinary effort, but achieving this goal will allow the Province to both meet the urgent demands of the present and invest in the promise of the future through vocational support, retirement funds, and a secure endowment for Aquinas Institute. After prayerful consideration, the Prior Provincial, Father Michael Mascari, O.P., has therefore decided to address these pressing needs by launching a capital campaign.

Br. Dominic McManus, O.P.

“The truth which we seek daily to know better and love more is not a proposition; rather, it is a person—the person of our Blessed Lord. Once we have grasped this, that when Jesus identifies Himself with the Truth that He has sanctified all truth, then we find ourselves compelled, not by fear, nor by ambition, but by the very love of God, to the discipline of study. In time this discipline orders not only our thoughts, but our affections also, and so our love for God and neighbor is perfected in contemplative study.”
